Stacey Yin is a Senior Director Analyst in Gartner Research, based in Gartner’s Tokyo office. She is part of the Physical AI team within the Emerging Technologies and Trends group. Her research focuses on the enabling technology stack that allows Physical AI systems to sense, think, act and operate reliably in the physical world, including intelligent simulation, sensor fusion, cyber-physical systems, and energy and power infrastructure.
Stacey evaluates the maturity, adoption trajectory, ecosystem evolution and potential market impact of emerging technologies. Her research examines how AI is moving beyond digital environments into industrial systems, robotics, energy infrastructure, smart devices and wearables.
She advises product leaders, startup founders and CEOs, CTOs, and chief AI strategy officers across technology provider and end-user organizations. She helps clients identify emerging market opportunities, strengthen competitive positioning, develop product and technology roadmaps, build ecosystem and partnership strategies, and plan go-to-market execution.
Drawing on more than 17 years of commercial experience in the semiconductor and technology industries, Stacey connects technical maturity with customer demand, product-market fit, ecosystem readiness and business scalability. She helps clients assess how emerging technologies can move from early experimentation and proof of concept to broader commercial adoption.
Previous Job (What I did)
Before joining Gartner, Stacey spent more than 17 years in sales, marketing, business development and market-entry roles across the semiconductor and IT industries. She worked at onsemi, Texas Instruments, ROHM Semiconductor and World Peace Industrial Group, covering power management, analog and embedded semiconductor solutions across Asia-Pacific markets. Her hands-on commercial experience enables her to combine deep technology knowledge with a practical understanding of customer requirements, market development and go-to-market execution.
She hold an MBA from Durham University Business School and a B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering.
